Meet the Team

Stuart Fieldhouse – Head Teacher

Leading this motley crew is science geek Stuart Fieldhouse.

Stuart has worked in special needs education since 2004 including 12yrs teaching science at New Bridge school in Oldham.

Stuart and family are part of the local SEND community and regularly take part in events like the NAS Spectrum Night Walks.

Lessons with Stuart are never dull. Expect the unexpected.

Clare Negus – Horticulture Lead

Clare is a School Gardening Consultant, green-fingered goddess and Secretary of our partner organisation Incredible Edible Heaton Park.

Qualifications in horticulture, project management and art twinned with extensive experience working with vulnerable young people make Clare the perfect person to lead our alternative provision sessions in the Heaton Park Community Garden.

Human sized nests, bird houses made from old boots and teapots, homegrown produce the students have seen through from bare soil to dinner on the plate, plants’ needs and names, soil science, and the changing seasons. Nature (and Clare) at her finest.

Sarah Robinson – Primary Teacher

Sarah is a qualified primary school teacher with 10 years experience working in London and Manchester schools and 5 years as a home educator. She is passionate about attachment theory and the importance of learning in warm, nurturing environments.

Sarah has a love of language, poetry and the arts that shines through in the work she does and ignites the creative passions in our students.

Leonnie Holohan – Senior Teaching Assistant

Senior teaching assistant and session lead Leonnie has previously worked at local primary schools where she specialised in delivering kinaesthetic learning experiences to small groups of children with additional needs. The first phonics session Leonnie ran at the OE Hub involved a tray full of shaving foam and several very excited children!

Jake Rowlands – Teaching Assistant

Jake joined the team October 2020 as a level 3 teaching assistant apprentice. He is a total asset to the team and has since led his own classes, organising our 2021 summer fitness sessions in Heaton Park with assistance from our Wellbeing Coach Harvin.

Jake has a degree in psychology and a passion to help children learn through creativity, play and hands-on experiences.

Jay Sudell – Learning Support Assistant

Jay is the Chair of our partner organisation Incredible Edible Heaton Park. He is a gardener and expert woodsmith.

Jay supports our alternative provision sessions in Heaton Park, working with students in groups and 1-to-1.

Harvin Dempsey – Wellbeing Coach

Wellbeing Coach Harvin is a qualified personal trainer, certified workplace and paediatric mental health first aider, and counsellor.

Sophie Parker – Operations Manager

Operations Manager Sophie ensures that all the behind-the-scenes action takes place in a timely manner and keeps us all on our toes.

Sophie is also one of our teaching assistants and has experience with children of all ages and abilities, from nursery to GCSE.

Lisa Pennington – Safeguarding Officer

Safeguarding Officer Lisa is certified to level 5 and qualified to deliver training both internally and to outside parties. Lisa is an autistic advocate and runs workshops and support sessions at the OE Hub through her community group ND Voices. She is also a trained counsellor and has a masters in child and adolescent mental health and wellbeing.

Cathy Fieldhouse – Director

Last up is founding director and all round admin bod, Cathy Fieldhouse of CF Project Support Ltd.

She is an experienced project manager and fairy godmother. Stuart has big dreams for Outside Education and Cathy’s mission is to help those come true.
